The Gross Bielenhorn is 3210 m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Uri Alps . It is located north of the Furkapassstrasse in the Swiss canton of Uri .
In the west, the Gross Bielenhorn is separated from the Galenstock by the Obere Bielenlücke (3248 m) . To the southeast lies the Chli Bielenhorn (2940 m), which is connected to the Gross Bielenhorn via the Untere Bielenlücke. To the north of the summit is the Tiefengletscher, southwest of the Sidelengletscher.
Routes to the summit
The Gross Bielenhorn is best known as a climbing mountain.
One of the most popular tours is the southeast ridge. It offers granite climbing down to the lower level of difficulty V. and is equipped with bolts . The starting point for an ascent is the Sidelen Hut (2708 m), which can be reached from the Furkapassstraße.
In the west wall there are other, sometimes more difficult, granite climbing routes.
