The Gross Schijen is a mountain in the Glarus Alps .

The Gross Schijen is 2785  m above sea level. M. high and is north of the Oberalptal . At the summit, the areas of the communities of Göschenen and Andermatt meet.

Almost 900 meters southwest of the summit is the ridge of the Chli Schijen ( 2605  m above sea level ), which slopes into rock faces on both sides . In the opposite direction, the Schijenstock ( 2887  m above sea level ) lies at a similar distance, and to the north of it the Bächenstock ( 2943  m above sea level ), followed further north by the Rienzenstock ( 2961  m above sea level ).

Southeast of the summit is the Lutersee , a small mountain lake at 2357  m above sea level. M.
