The Rienzenstock is a mountain in the Swiss canton of Uri . It is the main summit of the Diederberge , a chain running along the Reuss valley , which separates a small side valley, the Fellital east of the main valley.

summit

To the north of the Rienzenstock follow the Diederberg (2650 m), the Vorder Bächistock (2475 m), the Schwarz Berg (2314 m) as well as the Taghorn or Fellihorn (2125 m) as the northern end.

The peaks are only sporadically visible due to the steepness of the entire area, but the eponymous Diederberg as well as Vorder Bächistock and Schwarz Berg are clearly visible from the water , i.e. from the west.

To the south of Rienzenstock overlooks the creeks floor (2943 m) and the Schijenstock (including fountain Stock , 2888 m).

Fellital

The Fellital runs from north to south and rises from the confluence of the Fellibach into the Reuss at Gurtnellen (694 m) within 8.6 kilometers of 1782 meters to the Fellilücke , which forms the southern end of the valley at 2476 meters above sea level. This gives an average gradient of 20 percent for this valley and explains the lack of a road.

Halfway there is the Treschhütte , a mountain hut belonging to the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC). From the southern end of the valley on the Fellilücke you come south to the Oberalp Pass, which is 400 meters lower .
