Groves Island is an icy island off the Ruppert coast of the west Antarctic Marie-Byrd-Land . It lies at the north end of the Nickerson Ice Shelf between the confluences of the Siemiatkowski Glacier and the Land Glacier in the Southern Ocean .

The United States Geological Survey mapped them using their own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1959 and 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named them in 1966 after Benjamin F. Groves, a meteorologist at Byrd Station in 1964.
