The FMA SAIA 90 was a fighter aircraft project from the Argentine manufacturer Fábrica Argentina de Aviones .

History and construction

Dornier supported the FMA in developing the FMA IA 63 Pampa . This collaboration was so fruitful that it was decided to jointly develop a new fighter aircraft from the mid-1980s. The machine should at least partially have stealth properties. The desired result had a similar design as the Northrop YF-17 , but the wings were set a little higher and pulled further forward, so almost delta wings. The development work was well advanced, but the FMA's financial situation had deteriorated so much that it became clear that the project could not be implemented alone. However, the search for possible partners was unsuccessful, so that development had to be stopped.
