The FMA IA 36 Condor II was a planned jet airliner for the Fábrica Militar de Aviones , the studies of this project began at the end of 1951 under the direction of Kurt Tank in Argentina . Five Rolls-Royce Nene jet engines were provided as the drive, which were to be installed in the rear in a star-shaped arrangement, combined in a jacket. With a wingspan of 34 m, high aspect ratio and strong sweep, the wings should enable high speeds of up to 950 km / h and an estimated range of around 5,000 km. Various seating arrangements for 34 to 40 passengers were examined.

Several wind tunnel models in 1:34 scale were built, which mainly differed in the arrangement of the horizontal stabilizer. A wooden hull ( mock-up ) was also made on a 1: 1 scale. The exact reasons why and when exactly this project was abandoned are not known.
