The rose variety Greetings to Aachen , syn. 'Salut d'Aix la Chapelle', 'White Willow Glen' is a pearly pink, later creamy white colored floribunda rose , which was introduced by Philipp Geduldig in 1909. The rose was bred by L. Wilhelm Hinner from a cross between the Remontant rose 'Frau Karl Druschki' and the hybrid tea 'Franz Deegen'. It was named after the city of Aachen , where Philipp Geduldig worked as a gardener. This rose has a special meaning for international rose breeding: It is considered the first floribunda rose. The English rose breeder David Austin regards them as the ideal predecessor of his English roses , which were bred from the 1960s , while Peter Beales describes this rose as a variety of a modern Chinese rose .

The perfect shell-shaped, double flowers quartered rosettes smell teerosenartig to elder . In an early flowering stage, the up to 9 cm large, pearl pink to salmon pink flowers with 40 to 50 petals appear in small clusters. Later the colors fade to a cream to creamy white. The rose's color and fragrance intensity vary with the weather and humidity.
The 'Greetings to Aachen' forms a small, upright shrub. In Central European latitudes, the rose is about 45 to 90 cm high and 75 cm wide and is also suitable for growing as a climbing rose. The remounting shrub rose is hardy and resistant to the well-known rose diseases.
It is suitable for planting flower beds, cottage gardens , formal gardens as well as and can be found in many rosaries around the world. 'Greetings to Aachen' is also used as a cut flower .
