The Heidkampsmaassen mine is a former lignite mine in the Bensberg ore district in Bergisch Gladbach . The site belongs to the Heidkamp district .

history

The Heidkampsmaassen coal mine in the Gucher Busch (the street An der Jüch is still a reminder of this today) has its earliest written mention in a deed of lending dated February 26, 1717. In it, the Gohr heirs are granted the right to extract coal . However, the word brown coal does not appear anywhere in the text. Rather, there is talk of fire matter several times; the word coal was used twice. This provided the basis for the application of mining law . The certificate shows, among other things, that the Zehnten Reichstaler or Pfennig” had to be paid to the Electoral Cellar in Bensberg . The Heidkampsmaaßen pit is therefore the original cell in the so-called Gohrischen Reasons, as there is no such mention of the other pit fields .

Over the years, tithing must have stopped paying at some point . When that was the case cannot be determined. The eligibility file begins with a document dated April 25, 1832, which relates to a hearing on March 21, 1826. The corresponding result of the negotiations had not been achieved. No tithing would have been paid for the "Heidkampsmaassen lignite mine near Gladbach" , only the license fee required for lime burning. This is due to the fact that in the "Bergische Zeit" (which means the time before 1815) only trass was supplied for lime burning, and that was never affected by the tithe. They continued to adhere to this regulation. Thereupon, on July 5, 1832, the Oberbergamt Bonn made it clear that recognition fees (concession fees) had to be paid not only for the lime kilns but also for the mining of trass and lignite. This finally prevailed.
