The Junge Mann mine was located in the districts of Müsen ( near Hilchenbach ) and Ferndorf ( near Kreuztal ) in the northern Siegerland . Were mined galena , sphalerite and brown - and siderite in up to 3 m thick veins. In the upper depths, zinc blende and white lead ore predominantly occurred.
Mining rights were granted on February 28, 1835, and a tunnel was built before 1722. Before 1850 there was a consolidation with the Glücksanfang mine . Die construction began in 1826, and a shaft was built in 1835 . The 2 × 2 m shaft was covered in 1941. In 1885 the mine had its heyday. It was shut down around 1900.
