Land and Public Register Office

The Land and Public Register Office (GBOERA) kept the registers and books assigned to it by law in the Principality of Liechtenstein , performs the supervisory activities assigned to it and issued its own decisions.

As of February 1, 2013, the land and public register office was merged with the victim support office to form an office for justice .

Structure and tasks

The Liechtenstein Land and Public Register Office was essentially responsible for (Art 2 GBOERA-G)

Art 78 para. 2 of the Constitution of the Principality of Liechtenstein (LV) stipulates that by law or by virtue of statutory authorization “certain transactions can be transferred to individual officials, official bodies or special commissions, subject to the right to be dealt with independently by the collegial government”.

The land and public register office, which was combined with LGBl 136/2000 on October 1, 2000, was an office of the state administration (Administrative Organization Act). According to the office plan, the land and public register office is subordinate to the Liechtenstein government (justice department and the supervision of the government itself).

The allocation of tasks, management and representation are regulated in more detail by the government in a government resolution.

According to Art. 8 StPV, the head of the land and public register office was an employee with a managerial function within the meaning of Art. 21 Para. 3 StPG (head of the office).

The signing rights of the head of the land and public register office were regulated in more detail by the government with a government resolution.

Head of the Land and Public Register Office was Bernd Hammermann .

Supervision and Disciplinary Law

"The management of the land and public register office as well as the management of the land register and the public register are subject to government supervision". "The civil servants and employees of the land and public registry office are subject to disciplinary responsibility under the State Personnel Act".
