The Grundlos is a gypsum karst spring designated as a natural monument near Hellmitzheim ( city of Iphofen ) in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen in Bavaria .

description

Small groundless

The source is located about 250 meters northeast of Hellmitzheim , a district of Iphofen, directly on the course of the Kirchbach . There are two small well funnels of shallow depth (max. 0.5 m). The Großer Grundlos is a small, clear pond with a slightly bluish shimmering water. The small ground lot is heavily overgrown with algae . There the sulphatic water emerges from the karstified gypsum ground . The above-ground drain flows into the Kirchbach after a few meters. Both sources and parts of the stream are under nature protection .
