description

The two-story building was made of red brick , as was the arched entrance portal. Roughly hewn studs stand out to the left and right of this . Above it are three symmetrically arranged, narrow rectangular windows as well as an indicated tower with a clock and a pointed hood . The upper floor is plastered and painted in a yellowish shade. The building has a gable roof with three dormer windows on each side.

history

To the east of the village church , the village school was located in an old rectory until the end of the 19th century. In 1906 the community decided to build a new building because the existing building no longer met the increased needs. In the presence of District Administrator Ernst von Stubenrauch , a local meeting took place on October 20, 1906, during which an acute-angled property between Gützergotzer Strasse and Sputendorfer Strasse was inspected. It was decided to buy the two- acre area from the landowners of Ruhlsdorf for 8,000 marks . Shortly beforehand, the community's budget committee had decided to increase the teachers' basic salaries from 1,000 to 1,200 marks with effect from April 1, 1907. The structure was erected between 1907 and 1908. It offered space for four classrooms, two rooms for married people, one room for an unmarried teacher and the school clerk . The building was connected to the community's newly built gas and water network, which was progressive for the time. The apartments were equipped with hot water heating, the classrooms with steam heating. The total construction costs, including the land and the enclosure, amounted to 94,000 marks; the inauguration took place in March 1908. The former elementary school is used as a primary school and day care center in the 21st century .
