Grusonia agglomerata is a species of plant in the genus Grusonia fromthe cactus family (Cactaceae).

description

Grusonia agglomerata grows low and is richly branched. The obovate, gray-green shoot sections are 3 to 4 centimeters long. The circular areoles are covered with grayish white wool and white to yellowish glochids . Of the four to five yellowish, onion-shaped thickened central spines , the lower two are curved and 1 to 1.5 centimeters long. The lateral ones are spreading and grayish white. The six to seven protruding, needle-like radial spines are whitish and 1 to 4 millimeters long.

Nothing is known about the flowers and fruits .

Distribution and systematics

Grusonia agglomerata is common in the Mexican state of Coahuila .

It was first described as Opuntia aggeria in 1929 by Alwin Berger . Edward Frederick Anderson placed the species in the genus Grusonia in 1999 . A synonym is Corynopuntia aggeria (A. Berger) FMKnuth (1936).
