Gruta de Bidau Santana
The Gruta de Bidau Santana ( German Grotte von Bidau Santana ) is a Roman Catholic sacred building in Bidau ( Suco Bidau Santana , administrative office Cristo Rei ), a district of the East Timorese capital Dili . It lies east of the mouth of the Mota Claran and is dedicated to Saint Anna ( Santa Ana in Portuguese ).

The Gruta consists of three levels. Below a chapel (Capelhina de Santa Ana) , above a terrace and at the top a grotto in a replica of a tree stump in front of an artificial rock. In the chapel there is a statue of Jesus and a statue of Mary. In the grotto there is a statue depicting Saint Anne with her daughter Maria.

Several saints are listed on the board for the inauguration of the Gruta on June 6, 2001. The inauguration was carried out by Pastor Luís Bonaparte , the blessing by Pastor Rafael, assisted by the Portuguese Lieutenant General António LF do Amaral . In the grotto there is a donation board of the Light Intervention Brigade ( Brigada Ligeira de Internvenção ). The Portuguese soldiers had built the Gruta. You were part of the UN mission UNTAET . The Gruta is dedicated to the Moradores of the 16th to 18th centuries. These Timorese, colonial auxiliary troops of the Portuguese had their residential area in Bidau.
Saint Anne is venerated here by the residents of the neighborhood and local fishermen.
