Guacara is a district ( municipality ) in the state of Carabobo in northern Venezuela .
It has an area of 165 km², about 174,868 inhabitants (estimates for 2008) and the main seat is the city of Guacara . In the south it borders on Lake Valencia , in the east on the district of San Joaquín , in the northeast on the state of Aragua with the coastal mountains, in the northwest on the district of Puerto Cabello and in the west on the districts of Los Guayos and San Diego .
The municipality is divided into three municipalities ( parroquias ):
- Ciudad Alianza
- Guacara
- Yagua
