Guglielmo Pesenti

Guglielmo Pesenti (born December 18, 1933 in Sedrina , † July 12, 2002 in Bergamo ) was an Italian track cyclist .

Guglielmo Pesenti had his two most successful years as an amateur : in 1956 he won the silver medal in the sprint at the Olympic Games in Melbourne , was third in this discipline at the World Track Championships in Ordrup and Italian champion in the same discipline. He was also successful on the tandem , twice (1955 and 1957) he was Italian champion. In 1957 he was runner-up in the sprint world championship in Rocourt and won the prestigious sprint classic Grand Prix de Paris . He also won the Italian winter championship. He then became a professional , but was unable to achieve any major successes except for third place at the national championships in 1961. At the end of the 1963 season he ended his career.

Pesenti was the son of the cyclist Antonio Pesenti .
