Guido Hiller (born October 1, 1964 in East Berlin ) is a former German ice hockey player who played for Eisbären Berlin and SC Dynamo Berlin for many years . His father Bernd Hiller is also a former ice hockey player and was part of the GDR national team in the 1960s .

Career

Guido Hiller began playing ice hockey at the age of seven and was a member of SC Dynamo Berlin , for which he played in all of the youth teams. In 1983 he was on the ice for Dynamo in the GDR league for the first time , before he was a permanent member of the first team from 1985.

In the 1985/86 season Guido Hiller fled to the Federal Republic of Germany together with his club mate Stefan Steinbock while the SC Dynamo Berlin was abroad , trained at the Mannheim ERC and returned to the GDR a short time later. After a short suspension, both players were allowed to play for SC Dynamo again.

In 1990, the ice hockey section of the SC became the EHC Dynamo Berlin , for which Hiller was active in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga and in the DEL until 1995 . In 1995, at the age of 30, he moved to ETC Crimmitschau in the first division , after having played exclusively for Dynamo Berlin for 23 years. Hiller stayed in Crimmitschau until 1998 before he moved to ESC Dresden in the Sachsenliga. In 1999, his new club was included in the ice hockey league and was henceforth called Dresdner Eislöwen . At the Eislöwen he was initially assistant captain, and in the 2001/2 season he was team captain. In 2002 he moved to the regional league for Saale-Teufeln Halle before ending his career in 2004.

International

Guido Hiller played a total of 75 games for the GDR national team and was also twice in the German national team after the fall of the Wall . He was on the ice at two world championships , 1983 and 1985 .
