Guido Quaas
Guido Quaas (born August 30, 1927 in Pirna ) is a former German politician ( SED ). From 1973 to 1989 he was Deputy Minister and State Secretary in the GDR .
Life
From 1946 Quaas worked for the Pirna City Council . He joined the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). In 1951 he became director of the German Trade Center (DHZ) stones and earths in Zwickau . From 1953 he was commercial director of the artificial silk factory in Pirna. After qualifying as a qualified economist, he worked in Guben from 1959 as construction manager, production director and from 1966 to 1973 as plant director of the VEB chemical fiber factory. In June 1973 he became Deputy Minister for Research and Development and in January 1975 State Secretary in the Ministry of Chemical Industry . On December 21, 1989, he was recalled as State Secretary by the Modrow government .
