Guido Schmezer

Guido Schmezer (born December 28, 1924 in Olten ; † September 19, 2019 in Bern ) was a Swiss writer who was mainly known under his pseudonym Ueli the writer .

Life

After completing his PhD in philology, Schmezer worked as a high school teacher for the Swiss radio DRS and the magazine Nebelspalter . In 1967 Reynold Tschäppät appointed him Head of Information for the City of Bern. From 1975 to 1989 he was director of the Bern City Archives .

The journalist Ueli Schmezer is his son.
