Guildford Hockey Club
The Guildford HC is an English hockey club from Godalming around 5 km southwest of the capital of the county of Surrey . The club, which plays in Bordeaux and white, was founded in 1912 and has seven men's and five women's teams, as well as seven youth teams. In addition to a clubhouse, the Guildford Hockey Club has two artificial turf playing fields.
The 1st men play in the England Hockey League Men's Conference West , the second highest English hockey league . There, the team placed third in the 2010/2011 season. Until 2007 the club was still represented in the first-class England Hockey League . The ladies are based in the regional South Clubs' Women's Hockey League Division 1 .

The men achieved their greatest successes in the English Cup, which they won in 1978 with a 2-1 over Slough, in 1995 with a 4-1 over Teddington and in 2001 with a 2-1 over Reading HC . They were also in the 1980 final, which was lost 2-1 to Slough. The success in 1978 stands out particularly because a national championship was not held until the 1988/89 season and Guildford qualified for the EuroHockey Club Champions Cup 1979 . At the tournament in The Hague , the club placed eighth out of twelve starters. In 1996 the club again represented England at the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup and reached 3rd place.
