EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (men, field)
The EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (men's field) was a European Cup competition held by the European Hockey Federation (EHF) between 1990 and 2007 , in which the European men's field hockey cup winners were entitled to compete. In contrast to some European Cup competitions for some other sports, the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup was played in tournament form. The tournament took place over four days at Easter every year. Representatives from four countries were able to secure the cup, with Dutch clubs doing the most successfully with ten titles, followed by four successes by Spanish teams. The record winner with three titles is the Amsterdam-based H&BC. The last title holder is also the Amsterdam H&BC with a 6-2 in the final over the English team from Cannock HC . For the 2007/08 season, the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup was replaced by a competition with up to three participants per country, the Euro Hockey League, similar to other sports .
Competition mode
Eight teams, each cup winners in their country, play the title. The participating countries are those whose representatives took the first six places in the previous year, and the two countries whose clubs had reached the final in the second-rate EuroHockey Cup Winners Trophy a year earlier. The two last-placed countries of the cup are relegated to the trophy. The same promotion and relegation rules apply to the third-rate challenge.
