EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (women, field)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup (women's field) is a European Cup competition that has been held by the European Hockey Federation (EHF) since 1991 and in which the European women's field hockey cup winners are entitled to compete. In contrast to some European Cup competitions for some other sports, the EuroHockey Cup Winners Cup is played in tournament form. The tournament takes place every year over four days at Easter.

Representatives from four countries were able to secure the cup, with Dutch clubs doing the most successfully with ten titles, followed by three successes by German teams. The record winner with five titles is the Amsterdamsche H&BC. The current title holder is the Club de Campo with a 3-1 win in the final over the German team from Rot-Weiss Köln .

Competition mode

Eight teams, each cup winners in their country, play the title. The participating countries are those whose representatives took the first six places in the previous year, and the two countries whose clubs had reached the final in the second-rate EuroHockey Cup Winners Trophy a year earlier. The two last-placed countries of the cup are relegated to the trophy.
