Guillaume Bresson
Guillaume Bresson (born January 15, 1982 in Toulouse , France ) is a French painter.
Life
Bresson was a Fine Arts student at the University of Toulouse-Mirail in 2000 and 2001. In 2007 he graduated with honors from the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He lives in Paris and Berlin .

His large-format oil paintings show young people in combat situations, in places like underground car parks, dark alleys and other gloomy urban areas. Guillaume Bresson plays with the idea of ancient gladiator fights and uses their aesthetics and epic expression in the context of modern urban society.
Bresson uses the old technique of grisaille . His works are influenced by the compositions of the baroque painter Nicolas Poussin .
