Guillermo Gomez Gil
Guillermo Gómez Gil (* 1862 in Málaga , Andalusia ; † January 6, 1942 in Cádiz , Andalusia) was a Spanish painter who became known for his seascapes and his landscape paintings .
Life
Gómez Gil was educated in his native town with Emilio Ocón y Rivas , who founded a school of fine arts in Málaga and had a number of students. Gómez Gil specialized in landscape painting and seascapes and over the decades took part very often in national art exhibitions, where he received several awards from 1892 to 1917. His seascapes are particularly characterized by the representation of the sun and moon reflections on the sea surface.
Gómez Gil was a professor at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios de Sevilla until his retirement in 1932 and lived in Seville until that year .
