The Gumbertus Chapel in Mainstockheim , a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Kitzingen ( Bavaria ), was built in the 15th century. The former chapel at Gumbertusgasse 9 is a protected monument .

history

The first settlement core of Mainstockheim was built around the chapel known as "Gumbertla". The village center consisted of a fortified manor and the Gumbertus Chapel, which is said to have been built by Ansbach monks in 1059. The Gumbertla bears the name of St. Gumbert , a bishop of Würzburg .

The core of the two-storey saddle roof building with a baroque turret was built in the 15th century. In 1817 the Gumbertus Chapel was sold and then converted into a residential building.
