Gunaadschawyn Batjargal ( Mongolian Гунаажавын Батжаргал , English Gunaajav Batjargal ; * 1966 in Mongolia ) is a Mongolian diplomat . He has been the Mongolian ambassador to Austria since 2013 .

Life

Gunaadschawyn Batjargal studied at the Moscow State Institute for International Relations (MGIMO) from 1985 to 1990 . From 1995 to 1996 he interrupted his professional career and studied with a Chevening Scholarship at the University of East Anglia in Norwich .

He is married and has two daughters.

Diplomatic career

After studying in Moscow, he worked for the Mongolian Chamber of Commerce, but joined the foreign service in August 1991. Until 1995 he worked for the Mongolian Foreign Ministry, from 1997 to 2000 he was posted to the Mongolian Embassy in London . Back in Mongolia, he was Deputy Director of the Foreign Relations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2003. In the diplomatic rank of counselor, he worked from 2004 to 2006 for the Mongolian Permanent Mission to various organizations in Vienna . From 2007 to 2008 he returned to the external relations department. From 2009 to 2013 he was director of the strategic planning and research department in the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Gunaadschawyn Batjargal has been Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) with accreditation from Yukiya Amano on March 18, 2013, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, since March 2013 (UNIDO), the organization of the Treaty on the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBTO) with accreditation from Lassina Zerbo on March 19, 2013, the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) with accreditation from Martin Kreutner on March 26, 2013 and the office of United Nations in Vienna (UNOV) with accreditation from Juri Fedotov on March 7, 2013.

He has been the ambassador of Mongolia in Vienna since April 2013 with accreditation with Heinz Fischer . As the Mongolian ambassador for Austria, he is also accredited for Slovenia.
