The Gungartan is a mountain in the Australian Alps in New South Wales, Australia . The mountain lies outside the Main Range of the Great Dividing Range in Kosciuszko National Park . In its immediate vicinity are the mountains of Mount Tate , Mount Jagungal , Back Perisher Mountain , Mount Twynam , Mount Perisher and Carruthers Peak .
The mountain peak is often hiked in summer because it allows a good view of the national parks surrounding it. Since it is mostly covered by snow in winter, it is a destination for ski tours.
