Gunnar Kilian

Gunnar Kilian (* 1975 in Westerland / Sylt ) is a trained journalist and has been a member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG since April 2018 and is responsible for the Human Resources division.

Professional background

Before Kilian became a public relations consultant at Volkswagen AG in 2000 , he began his professional career in 1995 with a newspaper internship and then worked as an editor. From 2003 to 2006 he headed Hans-Jürgen Uhl's (SPD) representative's office at the German Bundestag and returned to Volkswagen in 2006 as press spokesman for the group works council . In 2012 Kilian worked in the Salzburg office of the VW supervisory board chairman Ferdinand Piëch and one year later he moved to Wolfsburg as general secretary and managing director of the group works council .

On April 13, 2018, Kilian became a member of the Volkswagen Board of Management. He is also a member of the supervisory boards of Audi and MAN Energy Solutions and Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Employee Foundation.

Positions

In 2019, Kilian demanded that the development of electromobility must be achieved without redundancies.

Awards

Kilian has been a voluntary member of the Board of Trustees of the International Youth Meeting Center Oświęcim / Auschwitz for many years and was awarded the “Gift of Remembrance” by the International Auschwitz Committee in 2018 . He has been a trustee at the International Youth Meeting Center since 2018 .
