The Gunung Tahan ( Indon. Gunung = "mountain") is at 2187 m the highest mountain on the Malay Peninsula in Southeast Asia .
In the Perak chain, it lies in the center of the mountainous southern part of the peninsula , called the Malacca Peninsula . There it is located in the Taman Negara National Park in the Malaysian state of Pahang .
