Gus mine
Gus Meins (born March 6, 1893 as Gustav Luley in Frankfurt am Main , † August 1, 1940 in Los Angeles ) was an American film director of German descent.
Born in Frankfurt am Main, Gus Meins made his first film in 1922. He directed a number of silent films in the 1920s , including the Buster Brown comedies. Best known is his work as director of Hal Roach's The Little Rascals film series from 1934 to 1936. He also directed Laurel & Hardy's comedy Babes in Toyland from 1934, on which young Gordon Douglas was assistant director. In 1937 Meins left Roach due to artistic differences and then shot a few smaller films for other studios. Mine committed on 1 August 1940 at the age of 47 years suicide after he was accused of abusing three boys.
