The Gustav Adolf Church is an Evangelical Lutheran parish church in the municipality of Leoben in the district of Leoben in Styria and belongs to the Evangelical Superintendentur AB Steiermark of the Evangelical Church AB in Austria . The below listed ( list entry standing) Church is located at Ignaz-Buchmüller Square with the tower in the line of sight to the Franz-Josef-Straße.

history

The church was built from 1908 to 1909 according to the plans of the architect Clemens Kattner .

architecture

The gallery church has a cruciform floor plan and a mighty tower with a pointed helmet in the southeast. The figurative colored glazings are partly made to designs by the painter Paul Scholz and date from the time the church was built. The glass windows in the gallery area were created by the glass painter Erwin Schneider in 1959 and 1960.

Furnishing

The altar is a pulpit altar . In the church there is a bust of Gustav Adolf II by the sculptor Wilhelm Gösser .

The organ was built in 1909 by the organ building workshop EF Walcker & Cie. built.
