Gustav Adolf Breymann

Gustav Adolf Breymann (* 1807 in Blankenburg (Harz) ; † August 17, 1859 in Stuttgart ) was a German architect and professor at the Royal Württemberg Polytechnic School in Stuttgart .

Vita

Breymann was employed as an assistant teacher at the Polytechnic School in Stuttgart from 1840 and was appointed professor in the summer of 1845. He represented the field of building construction theory, later also building science. After Breymann's death, Alexander Tritschler took over the building construction apprenticeship in Stuttgart.

His publication Allgemeine Bau-Construktions-Lehrs with special reference to building construction was a well-known standard work in four volumes and was updated by Heinrich Lang , Otto Warth , Otto Königer and A. Scholtz. A reprint of the 1901 edition (from the holdings of the Hanover University Library ) was published in 1981 ( ISBN 3-88746-013-8 ).

There were four drafts for the new synagogue in Stuttgart. Breymann's contribution was accepted for execution; The construction was completed under the direction of his student Adolf Wolff .

Since July 5, 1852, Breymann was also the first commander of the Stuttgart volunteer fire department .
