Gustav Adolf Gulden

Gustav Adolf Gulden (born December 18, 1808 in Mörzheim ; † April 7, 1882 in Zweibrücken ) was a German lawyer , politician and member of the Frankfurt National Assembly .

Life

Gustav Adolf Gulden grew up in a liberal family. His father was a liberal theologian, his mother a sister of August Ferdinand Culmann , who was also a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly.

Gulden studied philosophy and law in Munich and Heidelberg . In Munich he joined the Marcomannia fraternity in 1827 .

In 1836 an investigation took place against him because of his membership in a fraternity. He was also mentioned in the Black Book of the Frankfurt Federal Central Authority. He was also passed over several times when he was admitted to the civil service.

From 1837 until his death he worked as an attorney at the district and appeal court in Zweibrücken.

In the revolutionary year of 1848 he became a member of the Paulskirche parliament for the constituency 3. Palatinate (Homburg) . He joined the Deutscher Hof parliamentary group and later the March Association . From 1849 he was the first secretary of the priority committee . He voted against the election of the Prussian king as German emperor. He was also a member of the Stuttgart rump parliament .

After 1849 he was a member of the city council in Zweibrücken, chairman of the bar association and royal council. After 1860 he was chairman of the Liberal Association .
