Gustav Friedrich Otto Quedenfeld

Gustav Friedrich Otto Quedenfeld (born June 14, 1817 in Graudenz ; † November 20, 1891 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was royal Prussian major general and most recently deputy commander of the 7th Infantry Brigade.

His parents were the provision controller Johann Quedenfeld (April 4, 1783 - August 26, 1868) and his wife Luise Karoline Eleonore Arndt (* 1794 - January 29, 1883).

Life

He joined the Prussian army on May 19, 1834 and was a member of the 7th Infantry Regiment. He was promoted to NCO on October 7, 1834, to Portepeefähnrich on September 7, 1835 and to Second Lieutenant on December 14, 1836. He was posted to the Infantry Training Regiment from April 15 to October 15, 1842. After his return he was transferred to the 7th Landwehr Regiment on October 1, 1847, where he served as an adjutant and accounting officer in the 2nd Battalion in Hirschberg. In 1848 he took part in the fight against the unrest in Poland . Promoted to Premier-Lieutenant on February 19, 1850, he and his unit were assigned to occupy the Schleswig-Eckernförde demarcation line in the same year to separate the Schleswig-Holstein and Danish troops.

He was then transferred from April 1, 1851 to July 31, 1855 as a teacher at the United Division School of the V Army Corps in Glogau . During this time he was appointed captain on June 22, 1852.

After returning to the 7th Infantry Regiment, he became company commander on November 1, 1855. During the mobilization of 1859 he was stage commander in Hof in Bavaria from July 7 to 23, 1859 . On August 18, 1860 he was promoted to major and came as commander of the 1st Battalion in Grenadier Regiment No. 7. There he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 18, 1865.

During the German War of 1866 he fought at Nachod , Skalitz , Schweinschädel and Königgrätz . For this he received the Order of the Crown, 3rd Class with Swords, on September 20, 1866 .

On June 28, 1867 he also received the Knight's Cross of the House Order of Hohenzollern and on November 5, 1867 he was transferred as a commander to the 50th Infantry Regiment. Promoted to Colonel on March 22, 1868, he was posted to the War Ministry on July 21, 1868. There he was entrusted with the management of the business as head of the disability department, on October 10, 1868 he was confirmed as department head. On March 29, 1871, he received the Order of the Crown, 2nd Class with Swords . On November 25, 1871, he became head of the clothing department, and he was also appointed brigade commander. He joined the army officers on February 22, 1873, was appointed deputy commander of the 7th Infantry Brigade and on March 22, 1873, major general. On March 26, 1874, he was put up for disposal with a pension . On June 6, 1887, he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves , before he died on November 20, 1891 in Charlottenburg.

Quedenfeld married on October 3, 1845 in Glogau Luise Wilhelmine Amalie Meißner (born November 5, 1823, † June 12, 1896), a daughter of the economic inspector and bailiff Karl Gottlieb Meißner . The couple had a son:
