Gustav Hartmann

Gustav Hartmann (born February 24, 1861 in Görlitz , † 1940 ) was a German politician of the DDP .

Life and work

After attending the boys' middle school in Görlitz , Hartmann, who was of Protestant faith, completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith, which he completed in 1879 with the journeyman's examination. After the wandering he worked as a mechanical engineer from 1883 and was involved in the union of German metal workers . In 1890 he moved to the Hohenzollern locomotive factory in Düsseldorf as a foreman . From 1899 he worked full-time for the Hirsch-Duncker trade unions , of which he was temporarily chairman. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Reich Association of Liberal Workers and Employees.

MP

Hartmann was a city councilor in Berlin from 1919 . In 1919/20 he was a member of the Weimar National Assembly . From 1921 he was a member of the state parliament in Prussia .
