Gustav Hauer

Gustav Adolf Hauer (* around 1840 in Kösen ; † December 26, 1913 in Charlottenburg ) was a German architect and Prussian construction clerk . He worked as court architect or court building officer for Prince Albrecht in Berlin.

Gustav Hauer was involved in the restoration of the Buch Castle Church in 1891 . The inclined position of the tower was corrected with pulleys and underpinned by iron girders, the tower knob and radial cross restored, the plastering inside and outside repaired, sandstone figures restored, new windows with iron profiles and frames inserted and interior and exterior paintwork renewed.

Hauer was named as a member of the Allgemeine Deutsche Kunstgenossenschaft in 1890 and 1899 .

Gustav Hauer was the son of a timber merchant. He was married to Marie geb. Bahr, their son, was the lawyer, diplomat and sinologist Erich Hauer .
