Gustav Keppeler
Gustav Keppeler (born February 27, 1876 in Heilbronn , † August 21, 1952 in Hanover ) was a German professor for technical chemistry at the Technical University of Hanover .
Live and act
Keppeler studied in Stuttgart and at the University of Heidelberg until his doctorate in 1900 on oxyazo dyes . During his studies, he became in 1894 member of the Stuttgart singers shaft Schwaben . In 1903 the habilitation followed at the TH Darmstadt . In 1911 he became professor for technical chemistry and later head of the chemical-technical institute of the TH Hannover and the research institute for technical peatland utilization . From 1933 to 1947 he was a full professor in Hanover as a specialist in peat utilization, fuels and glass production . During the Second World War , he carried out important military orders for research on heavy motor fuels for the armored forces. Keppeler was considered a Nazi opponent and supporter of the DNVP , but in November 1933 he signed the confession of German professors about Adolf Hitler .
