Gustav Kirchhoff (Admiral)

Gustav Albert Max Kirchhoff (born June 21, 1863 on Bergen on Rügen ; † March 5, 1945 in Rostock ) was a German naval officer .

Life

Gustav Kirchhoff was born the son of the lawyer and notary Gustav Ludwig Kirchhoff (1828–1904) and his wife Johanna Luise Grützmacher. In April 1882 he entered the service of the Reichsmarine and served a. a. in the First World War as a commander in the coastal artillery and was responsible for the blocking of the Reichskriegsport Kiel .

Kirchhof married Serina Charlotte Schweitzer, the professor's daughter, who was born in Tübingen in 1875 as a lieutenant captain, in Weimar in 1897 . He ended his military career as a rear admiral .
