Gustav Korell

Johannes Gustav Korell (born November 17, 1871 in Leusel , † March 18, 1935 in Angenrod ) was a Hessian politician ( Federation of Farmers ) and former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Family and work

Gustav Korell was the son of the farmer and mayor Johann Heinrich Korell and his wife Katharina nee Weitzel. He married Emma Pfannenstiel (* 1874) on February 1, 1894 in Angenrod and was of Protestant denomination. He worked as a farmer and landlord in Leusel and Angenrod and was appointed to the economic council.

Gustav Korell belonged to the farmers' union and was provincial and state chairman in this party. 1904-1906 he was mayor in Leusel, 1927 until the takeover of the Nazis mayor in Angenrod.

In the 30th and 36th electoral terms (1899-1918) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the state estates, he represented the constituency of Upper Hesse 8 / Alsfeld-Land . From 1908 to 1918 he was Deputy President of the State Parliament.
