Gustav Malkewitz

Gustav Malkewitz (born May 15, 1861 in Wollin ( Pomerania ), † September 18, 1924 in Stettin ) was a German print shop owner, publisher and politician.

Life

Gustav was the son of the mechanical engineer Theodor Malkewitz, who came from Lohme on Rügen. His mother Mathilde Bartelt belonged to an elderly Wollin arable family . After attending the Wollin community school, he attended the French boys' school in Stettin . Then he learned the profession of printer. In 1882 he became editor of the "Pomeranian Reichspost". The following year he set up his own printing company.

From 1888 to 1900 he was a city councilor in Szczecin. From 1900 to 1918 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1903 to 1918 he was a member of the German Conservative Party in the Reichstag of the German Empire , in 1919 the Weimar National Assembly and until 1924 as a member of the DNVP in the Reichstag of the Weimar Republic .
