Gustav Nass

Gustav Nass (born July 1, 1901 in Stargard , † August 11, 1995 in Kassel ) was a German psychologist and criminologist .

Life

After studying dramaturgy , philosophy , art history , German studies and psychology , Nass received his doctorate in 1929 and then worked as a clinical psychologist, as a research assistant at the University of Göttingen and as a consultant for career advice in the labor administration. During the Second World War , Nass was employed as an army psychologist.

After the end of the war, he worked as a journalist, lecturer at the art college and the music college in Kassel . From 1971 Nass was the deputy director of the Darmstadt correctional facility , after which he was chief psychologist in the Hessian Ministry of Justice until his retirement . Nass was one of the most widely read criminological authors of the 1950s and 1960s. It was in the forensic biological tradition of the interwar period.
