Gustav Schmitt
Gustav Schmitt (* 1. March 1832 in Deidesheim , † 1905 ) was District Officer, Member of Parliament and Government .
Life
In 1902 he became an honorary citizen of Kaiserslautern , in the same year also in Otterberg in the Kaiserslautern district. Schmitt was honored for his services to the promotion of art and general welfare. He was also the initiator of the district hospital in Kaiserslautern. A group in the Kaiserslautern city council that remained in the minority was against this honor, because as a higher-level official he would only have fulfilled his official duties for the city of Kaiserslautern and would not have deserved any special honor.
Schmitt was elected as a member of the 27th (1875-1876) and 28th Landtag (1877-1881) of the Chamber of Deputies of the Kingdom of Bavaria .
