Gustav Streicher
Gustav Streicher (born July 2, 1873 in Auerbach , † August 12, 1915 in Bad Hall ) was an Austrian playwright and writer.
biography
Born in Auerbach in the Upper Austrian Innviertel in 1873 , Streicher lived and worked first in Salzburg , where he also promoted the young Georg Trakl from 1904 and encouraged his first dramatic attempts ("Day of Death" and "Fata Morgana"). In 1908 - at the same time as Trakl - a move to Vienna followed .
Streicher was an outstanding representative of the native art , which emerged from naturalism , and there are plenty of symbolist elements in his work. With the gradual disappearance of these two artistic directions, however, the basis of his work was also removed.
Gustav Streicher died in Bad Hall in Upper Austria in 1915.
