Gustav Freiherr von Salmuth (born July 11, 1832 in Bernburg , † December 24, 1875 in Meisenheim ) was a German administrative lawyer.

Life

Salmuth's parents were the Anhalt-Bernburg government councilor Gustav von Salmuth (* November 7, 1804, † March 17, 1845) and his wife Luise Madlung.

Salmuth studied law at the University of Leipzig and the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg . He became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Leipzig (1850) and the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg (1851). After the exams he entered the internal administration of the Kingdom of Prussia , initially as a government trainee in the district of Königsberg i. Pr. On July 1, 1869, he was temporarily appointed, and on December 13, 1869, he was finally appointed district administrator in the East Prussian district of Angerburg . On December 1, 1875, he was entrusted with the provisional administration of the Meisenheim district office . In the same year he died at the age of 43 at his new place of work in the Rhine Province .
