Gustavo Bueno , full name Gustavo Daniel Bueno D'Amico , (born July 16, 1963 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan former football player and current coach.

Player career

In 1982, Bueno, who is described as a fast striker, began his career as a player in Montevideo with Danubio under coach Sergio Markarian . He later played in São Paulo in the B Paulista for Fernandopolis .

Coaching career

In 1993, at the age of 29, Bueno coached the La Luz Fútbol Club and led the club from Aires Puros to the Segunda División as the undefeated C champions . The promotion to the Primera División failed that year because of the superior clubs Basáñez and Central Español , whose coaches were Miguel Puppo and Pepe Urruzmendi . In 1994 his path led him to Nacional , where he was the training manager of the reserve team. On the 3rd match day of the Torneo Apertura 1996 he temporarily took over the professional team as a coach for the first time. He celebrated his premiere with a 4-0 victory over Danubio. 2010 followed on the 8th day of the Clausura after the departure of Luis González another assignment as a first division coach at the Bolsos . Juan Ramón Carrasco then followed as head coach. From March 4, 2013 to March 28, 2013 Bueno worked together with Juan Carlos "Cacho" Blanco for the third time as interim trainer in succession to Gustavo Díaz . Rodolfo Arruabarrena then took over the head coach position at the Bolsos . In the same year Bueno then again exercised the post of coach of the reserve team of the Montevideans in the Tercera . For the 2014/15 season, Bueno and the coaching team consisting of assistant coach Jorge Barrios, Prof. Juan Antonio Tchakidjian ("Preparador físico") and Prof. Matías Buzo (deputy "Preparador físico") took over the training management at the first division club Centro Atlético Fénix . Before the end of Apertura 2014, Bueno and the club split immediately after losing 2-1 to Peñarol on November 23, 2014 , which meant their fifth defeat in a row.
