Darío Pereyra , full name Alfonso Darío Pereyra Bueno , (born October 20, 1956 in sauce ) is a former Uruguayan football player and coach.

Player career

The 1.84 meter tall defender Darío Pereyra, cousin of the soccer player Gustavo Bueno , began playing soccer in the so-called "baby-fútbol" near Urreta. He was a member of the squad of the Club Nacional de Football in the Primera División from 1975 to 1977 . He made his debut in the top Uruguayan league in 1975. In 1977 the Bolsos became Uruguayan champions. Whether this title can be ascribed to Pereyra cannot be conclusively assessed based on the current sources. His other career stations were the Brazilian clubs FC São Paulo , Flamengo Rio de Janeiro and Palmeiras São Paulo as well as Gamba Osaka in Japan. According to sources that are not entirely clear, he is said to have been under contract with São Paulo FC from 1977 to 1988, where he played at least 130 games in which he scored eleven goals. During this period, Pereyra won the Brazilian championship with his employer in 1977 and 1986. He was also national champion of São Paulo four times in 1980, 1981, 1985 and 1987 . In 1988, Flamengo recorded eleven games and in the following year five games played with one goal in ranks of Palmeiras. His last club as a player was from 1990 to 1992 Gamba Osaka. In the first year of his club membership he was Japanese champion.

National team

Pereyra was with the Uruguayan junior selection at the Junior South American Championship of 1975 in Peru South American champion. During the tournament, Walter Brienza was used five times. He didn't score a goal. Pereyra was also a member of the senior team of Uruguay , for which he completed 32 international matches between June 25, 1975 and June 16, 1986. He scored five international goals. Pereyra was a member of the Uruguayan squad at the 1975 Copa America . He also took part in the 1986 World Cup with Uruguay . At the World Cup, he was used both in the group game against Scotland and in the round of 16 against Argentina.

Coaching

After his active career, Pereyra worked as a coach. From April 1997 to February 1998 he worked in this role at São Paulo FC . From the beginning of October 1998 to the end of January 1999, he was in charge of the Coritiba FC team . Immediately afterwards, a stint at Atlético Mineiro followed until the end of 1999 . In 2000 he was initially led as coach of Guarani FC .

From the beginning of December 2000 to the beginning of 2001 he was the coach of Corinthians São Paulo when he was replaced by Vanderlei Luxemburgo . At least in 2003, Pereyra coached the Paysandu SC . Other sources, however, list the station at Paysandu SC for the year 2002. A brief engagement at Grêmio Porto Alegre followed from mid-June 2003 to mid-July 2003 . From July 20, 2003 until the end of the year, Portuguesa was his employer in the coaching position.

From January 2013 to June 2013 he was a coach at the Vila Nova Futebol Clube . In January 2014 he took over the training management for the team of the Aguia de Maraba Futebol Clube . His activity there ended in June 2014.
