Farm workers' houses (Althaldensleben)
The farm workers' houses An der Bever 3–7 are a listed row of houses in the Althaldensleben district of the town of Haldensleben in Saxony-Anhalt . The section of the building, consisting of five juxtaposed houses ( At the Beber 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 ) which is located on the south side at the end of only around 150 meters long dead end at the Beber , by the here in the Hundisburg road debouching Forest road branches off. At the back of the row of houses, the Beber flows parallel to the buildings .
The houses for the farm workers of the former monastery in Althaldensleben were built around the middle of the 19th century. The elongated wing of the building closes off the monastery and manor area (including the former factory building just 80 meters away and at the gable end of An der Beber , also a listed building ) to the south and is evidence of the intensive agriculture in the time after the extensive commercial activities of Johann Gottlob Nathusius in Althaldensleben.
The five houses have different cubatures , but consist of a uniform brick framework construction . They are two-story, the gable roof , hunched to the east, runs through. Despite the modest design, the architecture fits harmoniously into the landscape and ensemble.
Monument protection
The building complex is entered in the local monument register under registration number 094 84410 as a monument . As evidence of early social housing construction in Althaldensleben, the houses are classified as worthy of preservation under cultural-artistic and urban planning aspects.
