Guy de la Bédoyère

Guy Martyn Thorold Huchet de la Bédoyère (born November 1957 in Wimbledon , London , England ) is an English historian and author .

Life

De la Bédoyère attended King's College School in his home parish and then Wimbledon College . In 1980 he completed his studies in archeology and history at Collingwood College in Durham , a college of Durham University with a thesis in Egyptology . In 1985 he received a degree in Modern History from the University of London , which in 1987 was followed by a Master of Arts (MA) in Archeology from the Institute of Archeology , which is now part of University College London .

From 1981 to 1998 de la Bédoyère worked as a sound engineer for the British Broadcasting Company's radio news service at both Bush House and Broadcasting House in London . During these years his first publications appeared. Since 1998 he has only worked as a freelance author and radio and television presenter.

As an author, de la Bédoyère has dealt with various scientific topics, including the history of computers and medical topics. However, he is best known for his publications on the Romans in Britain .

De la Bédoyère lives in Sleaford in Lincolnshire with his wife, who is a teacher .
