The Gwardia Warsaw Stadium ( Polish Stadion Warszawski Klub Sportowy Gwardia Warszawa ) is a football stadium in the Mokotów district of the Polish capital Warsaw . It is mainly used as a venue for the Gwardia Warszawa sports club , whose football department has been part of the highest Polish football league "Ekstraklasa" for over 20 years, as well as being the Polish cup winner in 1954 and the Polish runner-up in 1957. The stadium was also the venue for several European soccer cup competitions for the club teams for the Gwardia Warszawa sports club between 1955 and 1975.
The stadium currently offers space for 9,000 spectators. Since relegating to Klasa okręgowa, the sixth-highest division in Poland, in 2007/08, the club has played in the lowest regions of Polish league football.
The WKS Gwardia stadium has a small modern part (a small grandstand in the middle of the main page) that is completely covered and equipped with blue seat shells. But this is dominated by high steps, most of which are provided with wooden benches. The sports complex offers space for around 9,000 visitors, even if they are not nearly needed due to the sporting misery of the sports club. The stadium was fully booked several times during its first division - especially in the derbies against Legia Warszawa .
From July 24th to 30th, 1989, the IX. International fire fighting competitions organized by the World Fire Brigade Association CTIF (Fire Brigade Olympics ). The program included Traditional International Fire Brigade Competitions, International Fire Brigade Sports Competitions and International Youth Fire Brigade Competitions.
The stadium construction is now getting on in years and looks like a ruin . The decline is evident everywhere.
