The grammar school Lerbermatt (formerly: grammar school Köniz-Lerbermatt) is a grammar school in Köniz . In addition to the high school Matura, it has also been possible to obtain the specialist Matura since 2016 .
history
In 1969 the high school in Köniz was opened with 25 teachers and 125 pupils. It was temporarily housed at Lilienweg 23 and 25, in two buildings that had been built as an extension of the Köniz-Buchsee primary school. The science subjects were taught in a new building at the secondary school in Köniz. By 1972 the school had grown to 14 classes and the first Matura exams were held .
In 1976, the voters of the canton of Bern rejected a loan of 34 million francs for a new building with a grammar school and teacher training college in Lerbermatt. Three years later, the residents of Köniz approved the construction of a grammar school.
Today's grammar school used to be divided into the Staatliche Lehrerseminar Bern and the grammar school Köniz. The Lerbermatt grammar school, which at that time belonged to the municipality of Bern , was later developed from the teachers' seminar . The two high schools merged to form the Köniz-Lerbermatt high school. In 2008 the two formerly independent buildings were connected with a connecting wing. In the course of 2016 the grammar school was renamed "Gymnasium Lerbermatt".
